The launch of the SOCCER project has been noticed by the Polish media. At the beginning of 2024, several publications appeared in the press.
“Poland for NATO. Universities a backbone of an important project” - under this title the publication about the SOCCER has been published. The article appeared as a response to a specific challenge related to the increase in the number and complexity of cyberattacks targeting the academic sector.
The publication is available at CyberDefence24 webpage: Polska dla NATO. Uczelnie filarem ważnego projektu | CyberDefence24
We also recommend an interview made available by Polish Radio Trójka: Projekt SOCCER – uczelnie z pięciu krajów wspólnie walczą z hakerami (polskieradio.pl)
In it, Izabela Albrycht stresses that the SOCCER project will increase the ability to monitor and detect cyber threats, enable knowledge building and sharing of best practices in the academic sector, especially in universities and research and technology organizations that are vulnerable to significant cyberattacks, data leaks or attempts to take over specific solutions being developed at universities.
The AGH University Bulletin published an interview with the director of the AGH Cyber Security Center, Izabela Albrycht, in which she talked about, among other things, the fact that universities are increasingly falling victim to cyberattacks.
In the same magazine, we can find material on cyber security in the education sector prepared by Alicja Żok, Jakub Jaworski and Anna Maria Trawińska. They devoted a lot of space to discussing the SOCCER project, implemented thanks to an EU grant from the European Cybersecurity Competence Centre (ECCC).
In the AGH Bulletin you can also read an account of the IT is ME panel, in which Magdalena Ostasz, Łukasz Faber and Jacek Przybylski unanimously stated that the SOC (Security Operations Center), is no longer an "option" - it is becoming a necessity
